BOUQUET OF THANKS & PRAISE

Image
Spring is finally arriving in our part of the world! Had a lovely drive through the countryside  to the southern end of the province to visit our daughter and family for Easter! Congratulations to our son-in-law Tim on becoming Principal at a Christian School! He had been on one year teaching contracts for a while, necessitating several major moves with the family – to Central Manitoba, Southern Manitoba, Central Alberta, Southern Alberta and now a move to Northern Alberta starting Aug. 1/2011. We wish them well. Now for a great place to live there! So glad I got to visit them in every place that he worked – sometimes in the summer months yet other times in the bitter winter! Over the years they’ve had interesting and challenging times that God brought them through and have loving friends everywhere. Their 4 children have grown quite close and interact very well together – as do most siblings, lol!! I’m so blessed to watch them grow and mature! It’s always be...

AFTER THE DARKEST NIGHT

Image
Sunrise! Come - celebrate the glorious Light of His Presence. Darkness must flee where Jesus Christ is King! Other ‘saviors’ lie stone cold in their final resting place. Christ Jesus arose triumphantly! Come worship, rejoice and sing! He died! The One who died once and for all mankind on the cross, Shed His precious blood to cover all of my sin and shame. I’ve been redeemed, made His own! Oh, what an awesome love! He died also for you. Come; call on His Name. He lives! The tomb is empty. The angels declare, “Do not be afraid. He is not here; for He has been raised.” Come, see the place where He lay.” With fear and joy they told everyone.  God, in Heaven be praised! He will return! This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, Will return in the same way as you saw Him go. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations. Christ will return, but exactly when, we don’t know. But until then, Be salt and light. Seek peace a...

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS

My apologies, but the first video, It's Friday, but Sunday is coming was removed from YouTube!

AT THE CROSS

Image
Alas, and did my Savior bleed, And did my Sov'reign die? Would He devote that sacred head For such a worm as I?   Chorus : At the cross, at the cross Where I first saw the light, And the burden of my heart rolled away It was there by faith I received my sight, And now I am happy all the day! 2. Was it for crimes that I had done He groaned upon the tree? Amazing pity, grace unknown, And love beyond degree! 3. Well might the sun in darkness hide, And shut his glories in, When Christ the mighty Maker died For man, the creature's sin. 4. Thus might I hide my blushing face While Calvary's cross appears, Dissolve my heart in thankfulness, And melt mine eyes to tears. 5. But drops of grief can ne'er repay The debt of love I owe; Here, Lord, I give myself away, 'Tis all that I can do. Chorus : Isaac Watts Chorus: Ralph E. Hudson photo: from the net

PALM SUNDAY - ACCORDING TO PLAN

Image
visit Joyful Heart - an interesting site  to view paintings depicting happenings leading up to Easter   "A very large crowd  spread their cloaks on the road,  while others cut branches  from the trees and spread them on the road.  The crowds that went ahead of him  and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”  “Blessed is he who comes  in the name of the Lord!”  “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”  Matth. 21:8...     Wonder what thoughts  were in each heart as they attended this parade, jostling for a good place to see, joining in with gathering crowd mentality, waving and spreading branches, possibly a time honored tradition...   "On the first day you are to take  branches from luxuriant trees —from palms , willows and other leafy trees— and rejoice before the LORD your God  for seven days." Leviticus 23:40  Whatever expectations of Jesus each one had in his hea...

NEW LIFE

Image
Winter’s white blanket is melting away; Warm breezes gently are blowing. Sun sends her rays to awaken the flowers. New life through everything’s flowing. Robins return with their beautiful song. Trees will be dressing in velvety green. Blossoms abound with a heady perfume. Everywhere new life is seen. Just as the earth is now filled with new life, Christ can bring cold hearts the newness of spring. For a life that awakes from the ice frost of winter Will blossom, bear fruit, be a beautiful thing! Karin Ristau A re-post from when I first started blogging! It fits well for this time of year!

The goose and gander are back and have set up house  on the building across from us!  So fun to watch their coming and going! Love the flying Vs overhead! Spring is here! Let it still snow now and then, but it's here to stay! “As long as the earth endures,  seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter,  day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:22
