MEMORIES OF MOM


With the first anniversary of mom's homegoing almost upon us, 
it is natural that we should remember her at this time!

Mom was born August 17th, 1919
She died, slipping away peacefully to be with Jesus,
May 17th, 2010


All of us are thankful for a praying mother
and grandmother.



This was mom's passport picture 
when the family immigrated to Canada 
from Germany in October of 1954.


There's no date on the photo
but I believe my parents to be in their
middle forties.



When mom and dad lived in the independent apartments
right next to where I worked,
mom spent thousands of volunteer hours
for the organization.
She made crafts and then sold them
all profit going to the Care Centre.
I believe mom was in her early to 
mid eighties here.




Family was together when mom turned 85.
Dad had already passed away six years prior.
Soon after that mom had to be admitted
to the nursing home.



She loved family celebrations!
We always made sure to serve her favorite meal
KFC
with a lovely cake and coffee to follow!

Wonderful memories of a 
mom who loved the Lord and did her best!

Love you mom and miss you!


EACH ONE OF US WAS BORN OF A MOTHER
THANK GOD FOR HER GIVING YOU LIFE!

Aw, what a sweet post and lovely tribute to your mother. Sounds like she had a full life rich with family and God. She sounds like a really good mom! May she rest in peace!

The first Mother's Day without your mom is the hardest. This is my 6th Mother's Day without my mom and I miss her so much. Thanks for sharing your memories of your mom. Wonderful to have a praying Christian mom. We have such a heritage!

Here are some facts about the Province of Alberta, part of western Canada, where we've lived for 37 years! Thanks to Doris for this lovely winter scene! Didn't have my own! It's winter here now but we do get the four seasons and they are beautiful. Love this photo - thanks Evi! The days are getting longer and soon we will have spring again!
