Do you know
God makes the snow
Nourishing
All things that grow
Though this blanket
Huge and white
Keeps the process
Out of sight
With the promise
Every year
Spring will
Make it disappear?
We had a solid month of snow on the ground and it was a foot deep. I know that probably doesn't sound like much to a Canadian, but to us in the Ohio River valley it is a strange occurence! I read somewhere years ago that snow is the poor man's fertilizer. It was a good year here for fertilizer. :)
Our spring flower bulbs are getting ready to bloom and the warmer weather is a tonic to the soul.
Wonderful Karin... George always says that snow protects many of the tender spring plants. It's the FROST that does the damage. Love your little poem.... Snow in winter; Flowers in Spring; Life is good.
Don't know what I did wrong in moderating the comments, but I lost two encouraging comments. Of course, I read them and was blessed, but have now lost the link to a new blogger. It's happened to me twice before with two anonymous comments.
Welcome all BATW visitors !! Debbie does a wonderful job taking us to fascinating places around the world! Thank you so much! So, grab a hot chocolate, or that second cup and enjoy the visit. Here are some facts about the Province of Alberta, part of western Canada, where we've lived for 37 years! Thanks to Doris for this lovely winter scene! Didn't have my own! It's winter here now but we do get the four seasons and they are beautiful. Love this photo - thanks Evi! The days are getting longer and soon we will have spring again! The trees should have green leaves by Mother's Day! Alberta's license plates read, WILD ROSE COUNTRY. Click on the rose to read more about it! Alberta had it's centennial celebrations in September '05! We're still quite young! If a 21 year old had ten bucks to his name in 1905 he could buy 64 hectares - over 150 acres. Of course it had stipulations, but wouldn't that be fantastic nowadays. I'd even pay $1000.00, oh ...

You’re a woman of worth Loved perfectly by the Lord! Be a woman of wisdom, Your life fully based on His Word, Be a woman of wealth, As you store up eternal treasure! Be a woman of warmth Giving and loving In bountiful measure. In valleys, as a woman of weeping Discover His wellspring of joy; With praises and singing and prayer The works of the devil destroy. Be a woman of wonder; How God is working In and through you! Let your wisdom and wealth , Bring glory to Him in all that you do. Be a woman of worship, He alone is worthy of praise! In everything giving thanks always Your voice of true freedom raise. ...
