UPDATE

Thanks to Ruth from Ruth's Photo Blog
who allowed me to use this photo a long while ago.
I've put it on my desktop because
I'm looking forward to spring - full of HOPE!
I just LOVE when I see my first robin of the year!

Good news!  The surgery went well and the sentinel node was NEGATIVE! Early morning had to get the radioactive injection and imaging done.  Then went straight to the Day Ward for the surgery! "In layperson language, some cancers spread in a predictable fashion from where the cancer started. In these cases, if the cancer spreads it will spread first to lymph nodes (lymph glands) close to the tumor before it spreads to other parts of the body. The concept of sentinel lymph node surgery is to see if the cancer has spread to the very first lymph node (called the "sentinel lymph node"). If the sentinel lymph node does not contain cancer, then there is a high likelihood that the cancer has not spread to any other area of the body." (From Wikipedia)

The nurses at the Misericordia Hospital are just wonderful people! They took great care of me! My doctor is a fine and skilled surgeon and I'm thankful for everyone who was a part of the team! Our oldest daughter took the day off from work to drive me to the appointment, came back after I was out of the Recovery Room and when it was time drove me home. Our daughter-in-law took the 3 children in the meantime to check up on hubby at home. Such great family support!

By six in the evening I was home enjoying a cup of tea hubby made for me, with a piece of plain toast and half a banana!  Then by eight I took some pain pills and hit the hay! Except for the 'normal' P-breaks, I had a great sleep! I haven't even felt like having a nap today!

Now I have to rest and heal. I've made the appointment to see the doctor in two weeks and then he'll arrange for the five weeks of radiation therapy at our Cross Cancer Clinic.

MORE GOOD NEWS is that hubby is now on new Parkinson's Disease medication and has started hormone therapy and injections for his prostate cancer. After a few days of symptoms, he seems to be feeling better - isn't complaining of back pain as much and is able to sleep between 4-5 hours.

Praising the Lord for these gifts
during what has been a challenging time of testing!
THANK YOU all for your continued prayers,
e-mails, fb messages and phone calls!
You are all such a joy in my life!
May the Lord reward your faithfulness to Him!

Dear Lord, I pray for my friend Karin. I pray she will get through these treatments and that she will see good results. Thank you for her sweet and gentle spirit...and for her faith and trust in you. Her faith is a testimony of your unfailing love!

Lord I also pray for her dear husband who is also having health issues. Please keep them both in your care, and bring many blessings their way.

I want to ask you Lord for healing, and I pray that your will be done.

We trust in you and commit them to you Lord.
In Jesus name, Amen!
