It poured buckets and was very hot and humid in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the German Baptist Mission Church on our wedding day. Not once did the sun peek through! Showers of blessing someone said!
Our out-door photo sessions had to be cancelled. We had to get dressed up again on Sunday for the casual photo shoot at the City Park. We did have some portraits done in a studio. However, I had signed us up with a young and still inexperienced photographer and our photos had shadows and so on and so on. Not such a great start – but we took it all in stride. We had each other and that is all that mattered. So, here’s one photo from that memorable day!

The verse our pastor, my uncle, gave us to lead our lives together was Hebrews 13:8
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Our focus was to be JESUS! While we don't live in the past, YESTERDAY, we love to go down memory lane to visit. We live in the present, TODAY, and experience everything it has to offer that God sends our way. We look towards the future, TOMORROW, with hope and great anticipation for someday we will live FOREVER with our Savior, Lord and King - JESUS. He is the ONE who was and is and is to come - the great I AM!

Having been brought together and joined together by our Lord, we have walked with Him a long distance now and are so much closer to home than we’ve ever been before! Ours is a long-term LOVE!!
We’ll celebrate with a lovely dinner at Red Lobster - just the two of us!

Happy Anniversary, Karin... What a gorgeous wedding dress you had... Love it!!!!!!
George and I had a 'bad' photographer also --who lost??? a bunch of our pictures... I was devastated --but as you said, life goes on--and we had each other.
Hugs,
Betsy
Happy anniversary! Love that Hebrews 13:8 is your life verse together and that you've brought it to all areas of your life, including your blog!
Happy Anniversary, I hope you have a wonderful evening!!! We have been married 41 years. and like you, our photographer was not really good, he was a professional but took almost no pictures. We didn't have rain, but we has snow!

Happy 45 years-what a milestone. I love this picture of the two of you. We got married June 29, 1968.
We have yet to celebrate this year's anniversary.

Happy Anniversary. I think those showers did indeed turn out to be showers of blessings. Thanks for sharing this picture with us.
I hope you are having a very happy Canada Day weekend.
Hope you had a very special day celebrating! Your faith and how it permeates every part of your life is always inspiring to me. Thanks!
Oh my goodness!!! So wonderful to hear that you two have shared a blissful life together [even tho the photographer was inexperienced....that really didn't matter, it was the life ahead for you both that counted more!!]. Such a lifelong love affair, as you two have had, makes me think there is still good with the sanctity of marriage. Just this May Bud and I celebrated 43 years together. You both make me proud to know working on a marriage WORKS...
Keep blessed in such a great union.
We had each other and that is all that mattered. before I read this line, I was thinking the same thing too. You have lasted a long time, 45 years deserves a LOUD Yahoo!!!!
Congratulations...what a celebration. I get the goose bumps reading about your wedding. What an honor and what a legacy to pass on in a world that has little hope for marriage. Keep going!
Aw... Happy Anniversary! I love that the verse you now have for your blog was already special to you back then.
Congratulations on 45 years of marriage! May you both continue to experience great joy in each other as you share the Lord's blessings together.
(Red Lobster is one of our favorites places to eat, too.)
You went to Red Lobster, we went to Red Robin for our 7/8 anniversary.
I love that you're still in love.
Blessings!
