Praising the Lord that our dear daughter-in-law is healing from her unbelievable ordeal last weekend for which she had to stay in hospital 5 days. She was not in a private room, but in one with four other women. I didn’t realize we still had such units in some of our older hospitals. Most everywhere it is either private or semi-private. Melissa was so grateful not to have to be alone – waiting for tests and test results can be disheartening. Her hubby, our son, was with her almost the whole time. One of the other ladies in the room came over to pray specifically for Melissa! What a comfort and a blessing!!

Thankful for those who pay a kindness forward! Another lady was already being discharged, but because she had asked many questions and found out that Mel’s work permit has not yet been processed – some papers were misplaced - and our son has not found a job yet either after 4 months of being back here and sending out countless resumes, she wanted to give the two of them a gift! Mel gave her their home address and phone # so they could keep in touch. How surprised they were when the lady showed up at their home after Mel had been released to give them a wonderful financial gift. Tears of joy as you can  well imagine for God's provision even when we think we've been forgotten!

Thankful for our health care system – wonderful doctors, nurses, and all other care and professional staff! Can’t imagine how much a hospital stay, as well as doctor’s and procedure fees like this one, would have cost elsewhere, but the family will not be charged a penny.

Thankful that God will provide a job - in His good timing. Mel has had several offers, but they could not hire her until her work permit comes through. Ken's main focus is still in working hard to finish his Ph.D. dissertation, but any part-time job would certainly help. Some won't hire as he is over-qualified!

Thankful for a great night’s sleep! After weeks of sinus issues, and after dental work last Thursday where I’ve had to pop extra pain pills during the night – last night I didn’t need extra pain meds and slept through! More dental work this Thursday though.

Very special worship services with great messages yesterday at the long-term care centre – English in the morning and German in the afternoon. The residents – and I – simply love the old hymns – even with our not so perfect voices – singing to the glory of God! For the afternoon service, the pastor and a resident both brought their violins and played along! Fantastic accompaniment.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
