COUNTING BLESSINGS

136. On the road to the ski-lift!  So glad I’m inside because outside it is soooooooo cold! Right about now I'd like to hibernate for four months or live someplace warm - either plan sounds great to me!

137. Daughter coming over for lunch! Woooooohoooo! She’s usually either working nights in ER or sleeping days. When she is off, I’m at work. It’s often hard for us to get together!

138. Daily mail delivery – even though it is bills and advertising – we do receive special greetings, notes and letters the old fashioned way.

139. E-mail – what a wonderful invention! Keeping in touch with family and friends and subscribing to excellent devotional material is simply a delight and almost taken for granted by now.

140. Facebook - connected to a bunch of long-time -  and new - and blog friends - and oversees family members I haven’t even seen in person for over 40 yrs.

141. Facetime – About 40 years ago, during our student pastorate summer in Edmonton, we were lunch guests at members of the church. Their young son impressed us with his intellectual prowess and his knowledge of computers. He told us that someday we would be able to answer our phone and we would be able to see the other person instantly. We just laughed and laughed at this absurdity – and now it is true! He's laughing now!

142. A date with one of the grandsons with supper at the DQ. Cool!

143. A prayer group where two or three together can talk about the greatness of our God and how marvelously He works in the life of each person and their family. We are one in the bond of love!

144. The group of volunteers who came to decorate our long-term care centre in order to enhance the festive season. May the true meaning of Christmas be evident to all! I'll take some pictures and show you on another post.

145. That the Lord will provide traveling mercies this week to our son as he brings all his belongings up here to move into their rental place on the 29th.

146. Handel’s HALLELUJAH CHORUS. What an inspired piece that still blesses hearts today!

147. Ears - to hear all the beautiful sounds of Christmas as well as the whispers of love from family and friends and everything in between!

148. My cherry pit pac – much better than the old-fashioned hot water bottle. 2 minutes in the microwave and then its heat is a wonderful relief on a sore back or neck.

149. Candlelight! During the Christmas season I love turning off the lights and just sitting a while in beautiful candlelight.

150. YOU!

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

Love reading your thankful list Karin, I think we all should write down at least 5 things every night or morning just as a reminder how fortunate we all are....:-)Hugs

I have a rice pack, but I had never heard of a cherry pit one! Does it have any fragrance? Mine smells like rice. LOL
