PERCEPTION

Loved this pure white bleeding heart
and got a photo of her last gorgeous blooms!

The gorgeous roses, the lilies standing tall,
The lovely canopy of trees
The playful daisies dancing in the breeze
but all she noticed was some weeds.

The peonies had bowed their heavy heads,
The fountain water jets were spraying
The garden beds their bounty were displaying,
But all she noticed was some weeds.

I heard the sweet bird’s cheerful song
I saw a squirrel scamper here at play,
It was a gorgeous, sunny, summer day,
But all she noticed was some weeds.

My heart rejoiced at God’s Creation!
This garden was a peaceful place
Spruce trees stood tall and full of grace,
But all she saw was weeds!

It’s pretty hard to change perception
when always you see negative,
and you have chosen thus to live!
Oh God, have mercy on her soul!

Great poem, Karin... YES---there are 'negative' people out there. I used to have a friend who saw the bad side of everyone and everything... She is not a good friend now. I like to surround myself with positive people...

Life is about perception for sure. Do you see the glass half empty or half full???? I think it's all about ATTITUDE also....

Great poem... Made me THINK..
Hugs,
Betsy

Just think of all she's missed! How sad!
This is a powerful reminder to us all! Thanks!

Her perception is her reality which is really sad isn't it. Especially with so much beauty all around her........:-) Hugs

At first, while reading this, I was thinking that she had a beautiful heart and saw so much beauty in the weeds! hhahaahha! I was wrong! It's because she chooses to only look at the weeds, she lives in a sad, sad world! :)

I like your poem - it makes a good point!
I don't think I've ever seen white bleeding hearts. They are really pretty.

Lovely verse...and your message is so sad, but true...it always comes down to the choices we make....

Beautiful Karin. The thing about weeds is they do not know they are weeds. That is our interpretation like so many things in life. Just read your comment on my Magpie and Clara is Grace and I made an error when writing. You must have read it before I changed it. LOL Thanks for stopping by gal.

Nicely said. Unfortunately I know all too many people who only see the weeds.

I'm glad you got a photo of the white bleeding heart since I have never seen one before. I didn't even know they existed.

Have a great day :-)
