I thought the same thing yesterday...I lit a candle last night...thinking, oh my...the days will get shorter again. We have only had one day of summer.
That's right summer solstice was yesterday. Down here in Houston we have long days pretty much all summer. Can't believe you had snow again recently. The bowl of fruit is sure pretty. Hope it was gracing your tabletop.
I hope that the fact that summer is now officially here in the northern hemisphere means southern Alberta is trough with snow for awhile. I've enjoyed the longer days, it seems a shame that they have to start getting shorter.
Yes---after about 2 weeks of horribly hot weather in Spring, it is now officially Summer... AND--it's still very very hot. Can't believe you recently had some snow... Wish we had a little bit of cooler weather... (Can't be satisfied, can we???? ha)
I like the longer days too--and hate to see them begin to get shorter.... Oh Well.
Happy first day of summer - and those berries look marvelous! I'd rather have them instead of a cake anytime...ok, a little whipped cream would be nice too ;-)
Through all the circumstances of life, the mountain-top experiences and the deepest valleys, I have found Jesus Christ to be the same. HE is all I need! As He lives His life IN me to achieve His Will, I am totally amazed that He can work THROUGH me at the same time. I want to be a shining example of His love and grace to others.
The love of my life, Peter, died in May of 2013. I am mother of 3, mom-in-love of 3, grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 2, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, colleague and friend. Did I forget one, lol?? I am blessed beyond expectation. Updated 2020.
What an honor it is to receive awards and tags from fellow bloggers! I'm grateful and thankful for all those who have sent one along my way. But, and you knew there would be a but, didn't you, I have deleted all those I have received and have decided to not participate in any more. I simply feel that it would be another thing with which I need to keep up - and that would be self-inflicted pressure I can't handle. I can't even keep up with writing and posting as much as I would really like. I love READING your blogs and sometimes making a comment, much, much more than I love writing anyhow! Thank you so much for your understanding, support, kindness, and bloggy love I've been shown! God bless! Hugs, Karin

Oh no - I hadn't thought about the days getting shorter. Something seems wrong about that happening on the first day of summer!
Happy Summer my friend....:-)Hugs

On the bright side for me is that shorter days mean cooler nights. At least I hope so.
I am not someone who tolerates heat very well.

Never really appreciated longer days till we moved to the Northwest. It really does make a difference up here :0)
Blessings...
Snow in June ... amazing! It is so,so hot here in Louisiana with no relief in sight!
Beautiful pic of the fruit! Love the dish!
snow seems years away for me right now! It was 95 in NC today...I love the heat!! I might cry if it snowed in summer!
That bowl of fruit is soo pretty! I recently broke a chrystal bowl like that - one I've had for almost 35 years ... I was sad about it.
Yes we are just past our shortest day, but we know there are colder days to come before the balmy days of Spring.
Love and Hugs - Jan
