We had a wonderful time at Easter!  My sister visited, as she does several times throughout the year, to be with mom and with us. Our nephew and his wife with their 3 adorable children also came to visit for Easter.  What a wonderful, busy, fun-filled, special event!

However, on Monday morning at 2:30 a.m. I awoke with the sudden onset of the gastrointestinal virus.  Oh no!! We had 40 cases at our nursing home and I caught the bug, even though we had been so conscientious in sanitizing, sanitizing, sanitizing!!!  I actually passed out and woke hubby with the noise of falling against the door.  He woke me from my unconscious, terribly unflattering position on the floor of the bathroom and that commotion woke my sis, who decidedly called 911.I'm sure glad the Lord allowed her to be here with us!

On the way to the hospital I had another episode of severe nausea with dizziness, which caused my heart to stop for about 9 seconds, which resolved itself.  After numerous tests and x-rays, it happened again, and resolved.  That concerned the cardiologists and I was given a battery of tests.  Many consultations later, the decision was made to insert a pacemaker.

BUT two experts in the field of heart rhythms disagreed on whether I actually need a pacemaker because I’ve only had these fainting episodes 5 times in my life and each time associated with vomiting, not necessarily something 'wrong' with the heart at other times. As I was still on isolation because of the ‘flu’, the doctor declined to do the surgery.

So, here I am, back home after 4 days in the new, state of the art, Mazankowski Heart Institute!  Will visit my family doctor next week and the cardiologist in one month.  I’ll keep tabs on any changes I happen to notice.  I feel just fine – except for the fact that going through a bout of this virus is quite draining and my energy level is not back to normal – whatever normal is, lol!!!  I’m so glad that this didn’t happen as I was driving! Thank you Lord!

Today it’s cold and extremely windy up here, but I feel so warm and loved by my Heavenly Father and all my wonderful family and friends! Thanks for your prayers!

Blessings to you all! I'll be by to read your blogs soon!

It's bad enough to catch a 'bug' without all the other things that happened at the same time. I'm glad you're home and are feeling better and I hope you will get a good report from both the doctor and the cardiologist. Take care and try not to over-do things.
God Bless You.

I am touched by your words: "it's cold and extremely windy . . . but I feel so warm and loved by my Heavenly Father . . . " That's a wonderful feeling! More than a feeling, it's a wonderful reality! It speaks volumes about His care for us during the "cold" seasons.

I'm a newcomer to your blog, but I'm sure I'll be back! I'm glad you're feeling better!

Glad your heart is ok, and I hope you continue to recover from your illness. We have had a bout with our 17 year old daughter. They thought she had a heart condition, then determined it was a circulatory condition that should resolve itself. Now she has mono and pneumonia. She probably understands your anxiety and concern. Prayers for your full recovery!

Thanks for the nice note about MacKenzie's baptism.

Oh, my! Oh, my! As you probably surmised, I am just now returning to reading blogs so I am just now hearing about your fainting spell! You've already read about my daughter's episode this week and that was scary enough!

I've had a bad cold, but have been taking it easy as I've been known to have my own fainting spells in the past so have been taking it easy the last few weeks. So even though I am late with the well-wishes, be assured that you are in my prayers!
