THE CROSS

This little cross I now hold in my hand,
Is not a luck charm or fine jewelery.
It is a symbol of love and great sacrifice!
God’s Son spilled His life-blood on Calvary.

On a rugged and cruel, a hideous cross
Christ suffered rejection and agony;
Salvation is free, but it cost Him His life.
What a symbol of hope for you and for me!

“It is finished,” He cried
as He stretched out His arms.
Now all those in bondage can be truly set free.
Unlovely, unworthy, saved by mercy and grace!
Yes, the cross is a symbol of victory.

In yesterday's sermon our pastor emphasized the meaning the Jesus' words, "It is finished." .. we are saved by grace.. . not works... nothing we can add. He paid the whole price. Halelujah, what a Savior!

Amen!
Jake and I went to Winnipeg today, and on a church sign I saw this saying,We fix everything with duct tape,God used nails.
I thought that was pretty neat.
Blessings,Ruth

Thank you Karin, I know some Christians do not wear a cross and don't believe we should. My parents don't and never let me when I was growing up. I have necklace now and it means to me exactly as you wrote.

He took our unrighteousness so we may be saved through His righteousness.
