Artist Gustav Semler, a dear friend.
This painting hangs in our chapel at work!
How can YOU love
a sinner such as I?
For in your Holy Presence
I would surely die
I would surely die
If it were not for Jesus Christ
who gave His life for me,
who gave His life for me,
Who took my place on Calvary,
whose death has set me free!
whose death has set me free!
I do not understand
such faithful love,
such faithful love,
That cleansed my heart
and set my course for heaven above.
and set my course for heaven above.
There simply are no words
that can express
that can express
My deepest gratitude and happiness!

A beautiful poem my friend, your love of God just flows through your words.......:-) Hugs
You're right -- such love can't be understood, only felt and believed.
Yes Karin...how can He love us with such love?...It is hard to understand...but I am so thankful ((smile))
Loved your poem.
Oh Karin, How can our loving God really LOVE a sinner like me???? Isn't that amazing that God DOES love us, with all of our faults and flaws.... Thanks be to God!!!!
Hope you have a great weekend and week ahead. We are headed to Arkansas tomorrow.
Hugs,
Betsy
A lovely thought, Karin. For me this is exressed in the hymn, My Song is Love Unknown.
Oh but The Father does not look at us and see sin. Jesus became our sin so that we may become His righteousness. When The Father looks at us, it is the righteousness of Jesus He sees! :)
