I’m busy; some days more
than I want to be.
than I want to be.
I may be busy,
but never too busy, you see,
but never too busy, you see,
To drop all that I’m doing
to talk with you,
To change my plans,
do what you want to do.
do what you want to do.
To laugh, to listen,
to love, say a prayer.
If you ever need me -
I’ll make time to be there.
I’ll make time to be there.
I’ve finally learned
to put my Jesus first!
Long, long ago
I was filled with such thirst!
I was filled with such thirst!
I’d lived long enough
in that desert so dry!
It was time for a change
or I’d surely die.
or I’d surely die.
I said, “Busyness keeps me
away from You,
And what keeps me from You
is idolatry too!”
I finally got
my priorities straight!
is idolatry too!”
I finally got
my priorities straight!
I'll be glad to chat - now
or arrange a lunch date!
Now Christ is always
First in my life,
Then I make time for us -
hubby and wife.
hubby and wife.
God slowed me down
and did me a favour!
I MAKE time for family,
for friends or my neighbour.
for friends or my neighbour.
My life is in balance.
No tension. No fight!
May I always keep busy
doing what’s right!
doing what’s right!
and that is my heartfelt prayer
for this year again!!

This is so true! What difference does it make how busy we are doing things if we fail to notice the people who need us? I've noticed that the little detours that the Lord brings into life often bring His biggest blessings.
Great poem for a problem common to many of us! HOpe you had a Merry Christmas and great New Year. wb
How neat, Karin. We all do need balance in our lives --and we need to NEVER be too busy to do the things we really need to do. Spending time with those we love is so important. We don't ever need to be too busy to do that!!!!! Great Post---to begin 2010.
Hugs,
Betsy
What a beautiful photo, is this your mom?
To live a balanced life is such a blessing Karin, and it is so nice to know someone who puts God first and their spouse close by. Have a wonderful Sunday.....:-) Hugs
Oh friends, I don't always achieve this - but this is my heartfelt prayer! Yes, that's a photo of my mom in the nursing home! She is very cognitive, but needs 24/7 care because one leg is amputated - circulation issues since she was young!
Thanks for your visit - do come again!
That's twice now that I gone to moderate comments, clicked the publish button, and they did not come up in the comments. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?? Both comments were Anonymous, but my settings allow for those. Hmmmmmm.....
Beautiful poem and picture! Blessings :O)
It's entirely too easy to get too busy on the trivial things and forget the most important thanks. Your lovely poem is a great reminder of how we need to keep our priorities straight.
