SUNDAY PSALM

Mt. Robson in the Canadian Rockies
For 50 years we've traveled through these
majestic mountains on our vacation.
This summer was the first time ever
we personally got to see its tip.
I didn't have my camera yet,
but a month later someone took a photo of it
and gave me permission to post it!
Thanks Carolyn!

Psalm 8

A psalm of David.

1 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.

2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?

5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.

6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:

7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Have a blessed Sunday!

This is one of my favorite psalms. Lovely thought for this Sunday morning.

I saw your comment on George's blog and have to tell you that you DO need an iPod and if you had one you would never be without it. In addition to holding all your favorite music, there are lots of free podcasts you can download and listen to.

We have a Bose iPod dock and I have my iPod on it almost all the time when we are at home. I have several playlists that will play certain types of music depending on our moods. One is filled with my favorite religious music and one is classical. When we have guests, we can have the selected music playing softly in the background. I have an upbeat playlist for housekeeping and I could go on and on.

When my husband had a hip replacement, I made a playlist of soothing classical music for him to listen to in the hospital (and at night after he came home). He said it helped calm him down more than his Vicodan!

I'm glad I found your blog. I'll look forward to your posts.
