A LOVELY WALK

What a lovely day for a walk! Lots of sunshine and a little breeze made it a perfect fall outing -  right in our very own Saskatchewan River Valley which divides our city into the north side and south side.  Just a few pictures for your enjoyment!

It's a great place to walk the dog,
feed the geese and ducks or jog!

You can see that we've had a very dry summer,
but on the other hand it's also time
for the grass to be finished for the season.

It was fun to watch the geese, ducks, seagulls,
and other hangers-on just enjoying their conference
before they head out of here
before the snow flies.

A lovely spot to 'set a spell'!

Boys will be boys and these youngsters had fun
running through all the geese and ducks
to see what would happen!
I think the one boy is nursing his foot
from trying to kick
at the birds to shoo them away!
Hopefully lesson learned!

Then up the hill to overlook the river valley!
The pictures don't do it justice.

I wish the squirrels that just used this fence as
their freeway would have stopped and posed for you!

Most of the trees are turning a wonderful gold!
Loved the cloud formations!

At the end of such a beautiful day it was
surprising to suddenly in the evening
hear the winds pick up and howl,
bringing with them not the expected rainstorm,
but a dust storm no less!!
I closed all our apartment windows before
I went up to our social room on the 12th floor!
I stepped onto the open deck
to take a picture of the oncoming storm.
Then as I tried to get back in I couldn't close
the door.  The wind had got such a hold of it
I thought it was going to take it off its hinges!!!
With all the strength I could muster,
with both hands and God's grace,
I was finally able to shut the door!
Phewwww!

A 'lesser' woman (in weight and size, lol)
might not have been able to manage
and be blown away!
Lesson learned as well!

Still windy today - but what is autumn
without the wind!

It must have been a great day for a walk. I love walks in and around the water. That little bench calls my name. I'd love to 'sit a spell' with you...

Glad you got that door closed. The winds can be scary... Wooooo!

Thanks for a wonderful post, Karin.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful day!

I can't believe that we're already using words like "snow" and "autumn" but here in the Ohio Valley we had a cooler than normal summer with lots and lots of rain so we gracefully slid into this new season with very little change of the weather. Some of the trees are starting to show their color, but otherwise, the warm/cool days and cooler nights are nothing new.

Thanks for sharing a lovely day with us.

Great pictures! And it sure has been windy the past couple of days. In that wind storm Gilligan wanted to go out and I told him he would sure need to hold on to his hat. :-) When I opened the door he decided he didn't need to go out after all.

Thanks for taking us along on your walk. You found a beautiful place in which to enjoy a wonderful day. You sent your high winds down here to Tennessee. Fortunately we didn't have any problems with doors.

What a beautiful park. Your pictures are so pretty and makes us all want to visit.
That wind is amazing. Hopefully it brought some rain.

We're finally getting rain here in Houston after a miserably hot and dry summer.

What a beautiful, beautiful place. I found it relaxing just looking at the pictures. Must be even more so to be there.
