BOOK REVIEW: FEARLESS

FEARLESS by Max Lucado
(click on the book to check the link to more information!)

If only we all had the fear of the Lord then we need fear nothing else in life!! The emotion of fear does untold damage to our physical bodies. We enter a prison of our own choosing if we give in to the fears that want to hold us captive. Yet, being fearful is something we’ve all experienced in varying degrees and differing circumstances.

I’m almost finished the book by Max Lucado, FEARLESS, and already I heartily recommend it to anyone who is battling fearful thoughts and imaginations. I also recommend it to those who see themselves as fearless; it’s a great resource for you to share with those in your life who struggle -- even though you don't!

Perfect love casts out all fear! That perfect LOVE is found in the God of our Salvation! As you read this book you will be able to identify the various and particular fears you nurse! That insight will help you diagnose and recognize where you still need to grow in accepting God’s Love, in trusting Him to have your best interests at heart at all times and believing exactly what He says in His Word.

Max Lucado is a prolific writer! He has an easy to read, almost conversational style. Check it out for yourself and pass it on to others so they, too, may be inspired and motivated to be free of the shackles of fear! This book may be just the start you need! God bless you as you work through these issues or help someone else!

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you,
I have called you by name,
you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1

Reading this book reminded me of a poem I wrote long ago. I want to share it here!

ANGST

God's not a punitive parent,
Purposely poised to trip me up.
God is my heavenly Father,
Embracing His child in pure love.

That was not always the picture I had,
The perceptions and doubts,
I now know were wrong.
The harshness and cruelties of the past
Threatened to crush
and destroy my life's song.

My fears held me captive;
I nursed them well.
My doubts sometimes
thundering waves.
My joy in life ---- I’d let Satan steal;
While I hid out in self-pity caves.

Whenever I wondered,
"Now where is my God?"
He had been right there beside me.
My anger at the injustices done
Had my eyes blinded
and I would not see.

But God in His grace
and infinite mercy,
Kept showing me love
in so many ways.
Today, there's not a doubt in my heart that
I will be loved by HIM all of my days!

Neat, Karin.. I've always enjoyed Max Lucado's books. This one sounds like it is especially pertinent at this time in our country. As much faith as all of us humans have, FEAR is still there in us. We all need to read this book--and work harder not to be so scared of what is happening in our lives.

Thanks!
Hugs,
Betsy

The fears you nurse. How true a statement. Some folks hold on to unhappiness and stress not realizing they have a choice. I will check that book out. I love ML
