THE ROBIN

Both Robins gladly posed for their portrait by
Photographer Ruth
at Jake and Ruth's Photo blog!
Thank you so much Ruth!

BE YOURSELF

At five in the morning,
right ‘neath our window

The robin is teaching
the crows how to sing.

And every new spring,
in meadows or mountains,

The crows just don’t get it
and do their own thing.

Don’t you think, my friend,
that’s a message for us?

Sent loud and clear
from the heavens above?

There’s a meaningful
purpose and plan for all things

For God made each one
in His perfect love.

He designed all the crows
and fashioned the sparrows,

Who can’t sing as well
as the robins by far.

Yet not a one,
needs to be someone else,

They praise their Creator
being just who they are.

Who is to say whose song
is more pleasing;

Whose melody
more melodious or right?

You must sing your part,
and I must sing mine,

But together,
our song bids farewell to the night.

In concert,
it welcomes the day’s rising sun.

Our recital of praise
ought to fill the whole earth!

Don’t ever let someone
squelch your life’s song!

For God is the One
who determines its worth.

EVENING SONG

Choosing the highest point; he perched upon it,
Surveyed his kingdom from this height.
He preened his red coat one more time,
Then bobbed his tiny head just right.

The sun had set; a ball of crimson!
His silhouette against the sky a gorgeous sight!
‘Twas then he burst forth gloriously!
With his song gave his Maker praise
and ushered in the cool of night.

Hi Karin,

Beautiful pictures and beautiful verses!

So, how was your trip to Pennsylvania? The family good? The weather nice? The scenery beautiful? Hope you had a great time.

Karin,
I loved the poem about being yourself. Boy is it easy to bemoan your place in life! And yet where we find ourselves is where God wants us to glorify Him. What a beautiful reminder.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking a moment to comment. I recognize your pic from Betsy's place. That's a find place to make a friend.

Karin, I had to check and see who you are. . . I love these poems . . . beautifully written! So often I wish I was a robbin and I have to remember that God has made me who I am to use my life as a song to Him. Nice to meet you.
