INVITED

God loves the unlovely, gives worth the unworthy,
The folks who don’t matter to anyone.
It’s for people like that and for sinners like me
God sent to the cross His only Son.

God loves the self-righteous, the angry, the jealous,
Even those who are perfect in their very own eyes.
There’s no one on earth who is righteous, no one!
Don’t for one second believe Satan’s lies!

Christ shouted His love as He stretched out His arms
Embracing each one who would come!
Unlovely, unworthy, but saved by His Grace!
It’s at the cross that new life has begun.

Bag-ladies and bums are invited to dine
At the banquet feast at the foot of His Throne.
We may be surprised, who’ll be all dressed in white
Clothed in His righteousness, now His very own!.

Yes, there’s a place at the table for you and for me
With all our loved ones who have gone on before.
Oh my friend, come! You have been invited!
Please make the choice to walk through The Door.

"With all our loved ones who have gone on before."

How timely, as I was just thinking today of my mother who went to be with the Lord just a little over a year ago.

What a wonderful hope we have. Blessings to you - Marsha

You are one amazing poet, Karin. It's not always easy to remember that God even loves the people that we are at odds with, because only He is the judge and jury of us. Practicing humility in every day life is not easy, but something we must strive to do every day.

Hope you are having a most excellent Sunday!

Ja, ich liebe meinen Herrn Papa mit seinem Spazierstock - er schaut noch ganz schoen stolz drauf fuer sein Alter!

Karin - your writing is beautiful! This one came at an especially good time - as in the news here a few days ago - they had a a story about people in the church getting upset because they were asked to pray for bin laden. I know what an awful man he was, as was hitler and the others - but sin is sin in God's eyes. I am so grateful for the invitation to belong to God and so thankful that my eyes and my heart have not been blinded from seeing the truth.

we have a bag lady in my neighborhood. She is different from other because she is very clean, and her stuff are packed nicely in these recycle bags.
